Time to Go :-(

Well this is the part of travel I do like - the packing.

It's great fun to see how roomy the bag is, and what sorts of things are being put inside.

I like soft things to sleep on and crinkly things to make noise the best.

But the part I don't like is when the bag gets zipped up, and I realise I'm not part of the trip.

When the cage comes out, I know it's a long trip and I'm being sent away.

So no more computer access = no more CMC blog.

Poo.
:-(

P.S. Dad had better bring me back some French treats!

P.P.S. A big meow-out to Uncle O for lending me his camera for the production of this blog.

Hiding

Maybe if I just stay here, he won't find me to take me away...

For those of you who've visited my house, if you cannot recognise it, this little hideaway is inside the coat closet, behind the coats, on a wee shelf slanting under the stairs and above the pantry.

It's very hard to see me in there.

(Dad rudely shoved a camera in and just clicked it, so see what was back here!)

Work Supervision

Dad's been crazy-busy these last few days.

I like to supervise him from time to time, to make sure he's not getting into silliness of the computer.

He doesn't really go into naughty things all that much...but he is naughty when it comes to music. "Ebay is not your friend," I try to meow him when he finds another new artist or something.

Sigh. A bit of a lost cause, that.

Here I am watching closely to help him with his numbers for his big Loblaws proposal...

The Taste of Money

Dad left a rather large wad of cash on the bed: silly him!

I decided to check it out, count the bills, and determine how many cans of Tom's Tuna Treats could be purchased.

A LOT!

Unfortunately, dad wanted it back. Muttered something about "paying for FIFA tickets" and other such nonsense.

They talk of the "taste of money" --- I tried it, but could not understand what all the fuss is about.

Sleeeeeepy

Daaaaaad....time for bed.

As you can see, I am very sleepy in this heat.

Time for you to go to bed as well...

Cheese & Pate

Yummmmm.

Now this is a dinner that cats can get interested in sharing...

The CMC Skylight

Last summer, as some of you may know, dad was feeling particularly masochistic, and coordinated five major house projects to be completed by 24 different workmen within three days.

(This year, he's been somewhat lazy.)

Most of the projects were for my benefit: eg. aircon for those horrifically humid summer nights.

But I think my favourite is definitely the skylight. On bright days like today, the sun shines down onto the Persian carpet placed especially for me.

I get VERY hot.

Evening Nap

So this evening I decided to have a little nap.

Considering dad had a TWO HOUR NAP earlier this afternoon, I felt no guilt whatsoever.

Besides, a girl needs her beauty sleep...

Play Time!

Today I needed some play time.
Really you can tell by these blog entries that I do not get much attention.

This is one of my favourite games, called "I Can Catch You Through the Banister". (Okay, so naming games is not my strong suit.)

When I get super active, I jump up as well and play the game balancing on the rail.

When dad stops playing, I stick my tongue out at him if I don't want to stop!

Where's the Beef?

Excuse me: this is not exactly a Cat-friendly meal...

Shower Supervision

Humans have this rather strange daily shower/bath ritual (see earlier entry).

Sometimes I find it necessary to supervise.

Here I am making sure dad washes all the bits he needs to.

Also important he doesn't forget to get me my breakfast right after getting out -- instead of popping on the computer.

Waiting for my Man

(To be sung to the tune of The Velvet Underground.)

And what am I waiting for him to do, precisely?

Well to cut off a piece of that yummy-looking barbequed chicken and share with me, of course!

I am watching him (well, his plate) very closely while he watches his film.

Thinking sharing thoughts.

(Ed note: She got her portion...and the film was brilliant)

I AM....STRANGE

I cannot fully explains my actions...

As you can probably tell by the dubious look on my face.

Tuesday is dad's "tennis fitness" night. While I like watching the ball on the telly sometimes, for some reason I cannot fathom, HE goes out at least once a week - even on sticky, muggy, hot days like today - and runs around like an idiot chasing after balls. Apparently this session is one where "difficult shots", "increased pace", and running around like an idiot are encouraged.

Yeah, sounds like heaps of fun, dad.

So last night he came home, and dumped his wet towel from the club, inside which is rolled his sweaty and stinky tennis clothes...destined for the wash. (He is a good boy, and always showers at the club before coming home. Though he's tried one of those new 'male body sprays' with the scantily clad girls in the ads - free sample from the White Stripes concert. Yuck! He better finish that before mum gets home, is all I can say.)

Umm, well, after he sat down for a fine barbeque chicken dinner to watch George Smiley, I decided this would be a good place to lie down. For a long time. Seriously.

I can offer no explanation, short of temporary insanity and delirium at the thought of shared BBQ chicken....

(Ed note: She stayed there a long time.)

Do You See What I See?

Here's a test for my favourite little friend - and anyone else reading my blog.

Can you see what I'm watching?

It's all serious, this Cat TV. Not just some crazy reality show.

You need to watch that birds don't sit in the tree and poo on the table, stop squirrels from digging in the grass, chase pigeons away from the eaves.

All hard work, really.

Which is why I take it so seriously...

I'm a Circle

Sometimes my flexibility is very handy.

Like when I want to curl up for a really good sleep, and ignore the noises from outside.

Treat Please!

MEOW!

Sometimes I really have to make myself heard, like when dad is doing the dishes before bed and I think he may forget to give me a bed-time treat.

Especially when I've been a good girl all day. Especially when he's been out all afternoon watching the footy.

Yes...I was successful.

Time for Bed

OI!

Stop watching the telly, it's time to come to bed...

Got It!

There was heaps of excitement today, as a FLY got into the house.

Now those who know me well, know that flies bother me more than squirrels. And I'm very good at finding bugs. Mum and dad used to tell me to stop when I looked at the ceiling and howled...but now they know I just have very good eyes. (Okay, except for the odd piece of fluff - but then really they should dust more anyway.)

It look me quite some time, BUT I GOT IT!

For SOME reason, dad was getting a bit frustrated during the hunt. I think it's because he's not as quick as me, so had a hard time chasing after me chasing after the fly.

It was quite an involved attack. As you can see, I had to pull down the front door curtain (rod and all) when the fly was hiding behind it. Spices had to be moved from the kitchen window sill, and I almost had to bring down some paintings from the kitchen wall. (Dad helped chase the fly at this point, getting him to a safer spot.)

What fun! :-)

Filling Empty Bed Space

While I miss my mum terribly, there are some advantages.

Like the fact that there is so much more room on the bed.

I like to lay across part of the middle, taking up as much room as possible.

As you can see here, I've still left enough room for dad. Sort of.

(Sneaky of him to bring the camera to bed!)

Cleaning is Complicated

It takes a lot of work for me to keep my shiny coat so beautiful.

(Ed note: For any of you who have not met Cleo in feline, her coat is very shiny and beautiful indeed.)

Just to give you an idea, here is a series of pictures of the process I must go through at least a couple times daily.

(Usually I have a sleep afterwards.)

By the way, I'm a little upset at dad for that last picture --- as you can imagine!
